Dead Space 2 is an action shooter game that includes elements of horror and third-person survival. This game is a direct continuation of Chapter 1 of the Dead Space franchise. The initial events of the game take place in the future space. The chronicle of the second part begins in the year 2511, exactly three years after the events of the first part of the game.
The main character is Isaac Clarke, who wakes up on the Sprawl, a space station, after a three-year coma, finding himself in a madhouse. The pace of events starts to unfold, with the antagonists pursuing him in order to obtain his brain for the installation of a new Marker. Isaac’s sole goal is to destroy the Marker.
The players’ objective is to join the space adventure of the main character to complete his crucial mission and cooperate in the outbreak of the necromorph. Isaac utilizes Resource Integration Gear, just like in the previous installment. This special suit displays important parameters for the game, including oxygen level and health. When one of these bars reaches zero, Isaac dies, and the game restarts from the last checkpoint.
