Many will say that the game is old. Indeed, its engine no longer amazes with modernity. However, Miasmata was and remains an unusual survival game. At the beginning of its Journey, it was baptized as a chemist-botanist simulator. And there is some truth to this, as the mechanics are based on creating remedies from the gifts of the local nature.
The storyline begins with the scientist Robert Hughes, who dies from an incurable disease-plague. The character knows that there is a secluded island with laboratories. He sets off to the island, hoping that together with like-minded people, he can cure himself of the unknown ailment. However, it turns out that something has happened on the secluded island.
There is no one on the island. There are no scientists, no local residents. And Hughes understands why. There is a monster living on the island, and encounters with it often lead to the player’s death. And Hughes needs to wander for a long time, as he collects a miraculous remedy for the medicine. Naturally, he also needs to eat and drink, treat wounds and bruises on the island.
In addition, it is not possible to carry large bags with gathered plants. Another problem is the complete lack of a map of the island. But the gamer can create it himself, marking distinctive places on paper. As a result, there are many helpers, but only one result. And yet, we want to know what it is, don’t we?
