New Call of Duty Game Won’t Release in 2023.

Don’t expect any new games in the Call of Duty series in 2023. The Call of Duty franchise, a sales leader since its debut in 2003, will skip a release in 2023 for the first time in two decades. As per Bloomberg, Activision has postponed the release of the next main game in the series for the coming year.

Despite the fact that the release of Modern Warfare is on track for this year, and there are other Call of Duty projects in the works, Bloomberg reports that the release of the next main installment has been delayed. This means that for the first time since 2004, the world will not see a Call of Duty game during the holiday season, which has consistently topped sales charts.

In the Bloomberg report, it’s mentioned that the decision to delay the game came after the recent installment in the series didn’t meet expectations. This led some executives to believe that new versions were being released too quickly.

Clearly, Bloomberg notes that this decision was made solely by Activision and is unrelated to Activision’s agreement to be acquired by Microsoft Corp. for $69 billion.”

Overall, this may not seem like a big issue – they’re just skipping a year, no big deal. But look at it from another perspective: for almost two decades, some of you have received a new game from the studio every year. It seems like the developers have earned a little break.
