Legal Battle with Activision

Lately, it has become popular to take well-known companies to court. Activision is no exception.

Why was Activision sued?

Recently, screenwriter Clayton Haugen filed a lawsuit against Activision for copyright infringement. The screenwriter claimed that the operator from the Call of Duty Modern Warfare series, Mara, is a copy of a character he created in 2017 for November Renaissance, a character whose story he wanted to bring to the big screen.
Clayton Haugen had reached out to various companies to have his character featured on screen and had also made posts on his website and Instagram. The screenwriter named his heroine Cade Janus.

Will Clayton be able to prove his case or not?

We will be able to understand this once the legal proceedings in this matter have taken place.
A similar situation occurred earlier this year when NOWWA accused the creators of the game Apex Legends of copyright infringement, claiming that Fuse, a character from Apex Legends, was taken from their Hunter.
