Payday 3 Set to Release in 2023 – Game Acquired by Koch Media with a Budget of €50 Million

Fans of Payday have finally received news about the highly anticipated third installment of the game, as announced by Starbreeze on their official website. The upcoming first-person shooter will now be published by Koch Media, under the banner of Deep Silver, a subsidiary of the Embracer Group. The hotly-anticipated title is set to hit consoles and PC in 2023.

The official press release also shed light on another intriguing aspect of the collaboration with the new publisher: the estimated funding for the game’s production stands at a whopping 50 million euros. This encompasses not only game development but also marketing efforts and a year-and-a-half of post-launch support for PAYDAY 3. Given that the second installment featured paid DLCs, it’s plausible that Payday 3 will follow suit.

However, Starbreeze retains the rights to the franchise. The company has revealed that downloads for the Payday series have already surpassed 28 million. Yet, the exact sales figures remain under wraps. Notably, PAYDAY 2 served as the primary revenue stream for Starbreeze until recently.
