Release of the Mobile JRPG Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights

After releasing the sequel Bravely Default 2 on Nintendo Switch in February, Square Enix has started working on a new installment called Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights, aimed at mobile gaming. The game will be available for smartphones running on Android and iOS. While the game is free to play, gamers will have the option to purchase in-game items.

The project will feature both old and new characters with their own backstory, each intersecting with past entries in the series. The studio promises to optimize the turn-based battle system “Brave and Default” in the mobile game, which gamers may recall from Bravely Default 2.

The developer also noted that since the release of the first game in 2012, the Bravely Default series has reached 300 million shipments, including digital sales worldwide.
