OpTic Texas in Talks with Envoy and Drazah for CDL 2024 Team

According to insider information from Dexerto, OpTic Texas has initiated discussions to recruit LA Thieves’ standout players Zack ‘Drazah’ Jordan and Dylan ‘Envoy’ Hannon for the upcoming 2023/24 Call of Duty League (CDL) season.

Although it is still early in the rostermania phase, rumors are already circulating widely. Fans and players anticipate significant changes among the 12 franchises, with the exception of New York Subliners, the reigning champions, who are expected to retain their roster.

OpTic Texas’ roster has been a subject of intense speculation. Reports suggested that they were willing to secure Seattle Surge’s Amer ‘Pred’ Zulbeari, potentially making him the most expensive player in Call of Duty history. However, they ended up acquiring Brandon ‘Dashy’ Otell, Cuyler ‘Huke’ Garland, Anthony ‘Shotzzy’ Cuevas-Castro, and Daniel ‘Ghosty’ Rothe, achieving immediate success with consecutive second-place finishes at Major 3 and Major 4.

Unfortunately, their performance waned in the later stages of the season, resulting in an underwhelming outcome at CDL Champs 2023, where they failed to secure a podium finish. Consequently, it comes as no surprise that OpTic Texas is considering roster changes.

OpTic Texas Aims for Major Changes in CDL 2024

According to our sources, OpTic has engaged in discussions with two members of LA Thieves’ 2022 world championship roster, Envoy and Drazah, to join them for the Modern Warfare 3 season in 2024, alongside Dashy and Shotzzy. However, these negotiations are still fluid and subject to change.

The free agency window will not open until Monday, July 3, allowing ample time for developments. Given that both Envoy and Drazah are unrestricted free agents in the upcoming offseason, the negotiations could proceed smoothly if all parties involved are in agreement.

The potential impact on Pred, who was widely assumed to be a surefire addition to OpTic, as well as on the LA Thieves, remains to be seen. Should OpTic secure these players, the Thieves may have the ability to recruit superstar replacements. However, with multiple players and organizations vying to assemble the strongest rosters, the competition is expected to intensify.

Although it is important to note that this move is not yet confirmed, it provides insight into OpTic’s potential plans for the offseason.
