Aleksib on s1mple: “This Guy Deserves Respect, He’s Clearly a Legend”

The team captain of Natus Vincere, Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, doesn’t hold back on compliments when it comes to the esports superstar Alexander “s1mple” Kostylev. According to him, s1mple possesses the same qualities as stars in traditional sports.

Playing against s1mple? It’s always what you expect and even more. Virolainen believes that there aren’t many personalities in esports with as strong a mentality as s1mple. “Compare him to mainstream sports, and you’ll see people who go their own way and have nerves of steel. Sasha is just like that. He deserves respect because he is, undoubtedly, great,” says Aleksi.

Aleksi Virolainen also shared his impressions of s1mple’s game with team 5yclone. “I remember Valera [B1T] saying, ‘Sasha, take the AWP.’ Sometimes this can create problems, but if Sasha has a plan, he executes it. That’s why he’s so strong. Even if his tricks sometimes don’t work, this time everything fell into place,” he added.

Currently, the NAVI team is participating in ESL Pro League Season 18 and has already advanced to the semifinals of Group C.
