When Will Dead Island 2 Be Released? First Information from Developers.

Are you looking forward to Dead Island 2? It seems you’ll have to wait until sometime next year. The parent company, Deep Silver, part of the Embracer Group, has confirmed that Dead Island 2 is still in development, but its release is expected no earlier than the next financial year, which begins in March 2023.

The question about the game’s development was raised during Embracer Group’s latest financial results in a Q&A session. The question was whether the game has an official release window or what can be expected from a game that has been in development for ten years.

According to Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors, he cannot discuss Dead Island 2 because it is “unannounced by the publisher.”

“But we have an unannounced AAA title that you consider to be Dead Island 2,” Wingefors replied. “I find it hard to comment on that further, but I’m excited about unannounced games,” he continued with a slight chuckle and a wry smile.

Dead Island 2 was announced back in 2014, and before its announcement, the game had been in development for at least two years. Publisher Deep Silver confirmed that the game was still in development as of 2017. After that, things went relatively quiet, but in 2019, Wingefors twice confirmed that the game was still in development.
