Counter Strike is a team-based first-person shooter game that has earned the title of the best online shooter in the world. The goal of the game is to achieve strategic objectives with teammates as part of a counter-terrorist team and eliminate the terrorist Squad.
Before the start of each round, players choose the type of game map, which determines the main mission. The missions can be as follows:
– Hostage rescue;
– Bomb defusal;
– VIP assassination.
In the first scenario, players must either extract the hostages to a safe zone or eliminate all terrorists. If the terrorists plant a bomb, the counter-terrorists must defuse it within a certain time limit. In the VIP assassination mode, the terrorists are hunting a specific person, and the counter-terrorists must escort them to a rescue zone.
The game developed by Valve Software became a huge hit and was a popular esports discipline in the 2000s. It has since been reissued in several remakes.
