As mentioned earlier, FromSoftware knows how to create hardcore games. But what to do when the Dark Souls series is completely finished? Naturally, you look for something new and test your skills in a new field.
In Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, gameplay elements from Dark Souls were used. However, now the main character has a clear understanding of his tasks and where the game’s objective is hidden.
So, the protagonist named Wolf is the bodyguard of the young lord Kuro. In battle, he lost his arm and was defeated. It is no secret that a samurai immediately commits suicide after losing his honor. However, Wolf is not a traditional samurai, he is an orphan and has been trained as a shinobi. Revenge is the only way out of the situation. But what about the arm? Thanks to the work of the Sculptor, Wolf became the owner of a multifunctional prosthetic.
The foundation of the game impresses with its simplicity – Sengoku Japan, a little local flavor, a lot of dark fantasy, and impeccable graphics. However, that’s not all. The interest in the game lies in the well-designed battles. The battles only slightly resemble Dark Souls and contain many innovations. An interesting novelty is the “posture gauge,” which shows the opponent’s composure. If he loses control, Wolf can finish him off with a single blow. Also, let’s not forget about the prosthetic arm, which is endowed with various abilities.
Undoubtedly, fans of challenging games will be satisfied. But only after they finish the game with victory.
