Esports Athlete Sentenced to 116 Years Reduced Due to Court Errors

The court decision in São Paulo, Brazil, has changed the sentence of Shay Victorio, the former esports player and member of a CS:GO team. Although the charges were not dropped, her prison sentence has been reduced from 116 years in a maximum-security prison to 3 years and 9 months in a regular prison.

This change occurred during a hearing in which it was revealed that there were significant errors in the initial court documents. According to Victorio’s lawyer, she has compensated the victims of the fraud and intends to file an appeal to have all charges dropped.
