GTA 5 gameplay in 8K at maximum graphics settings: controversy and frustration

Youtuber Digital Dreams recently posted a nearly 10-minute gameplay video of GTA 5, showing the game with stunning graphics. He recorded the video at 8K resolution and used ray tracing as well as a variety of graphics mods, including QuantV, 5Real, and WLS.

The video, however, has sparked controversial reactions. Some users were amazed by the image quality and said that even the supposed GTA 6 could not reach such heights. They were impressed by the level of detail and the beauty of the visuals. At the same time, other commenters noted that the image looks too unrealistic because of the excess of special effects, especially in the reflections in puddles.

Some user reviews included:

“It feels like it’s not part five of GTA at all.”
“It looks cool! I played too much Cyberpunk 2077 and forgot how much better GTA is at driving!”
“It looks unrealistic, especially the reflection in the puddles.”
“No matter how hard you try, it’s still an old game, you need a new one.”

Digital Dreams conducts its experiments with GTA 5 on a powerful PC with the following specifications: an AMD Ryzen 9 7950xx processor, Kingston Fury 6000 MHz RAM, NVIDIA RTX 4090M graphics card, Samsung evo 970 and Crucial mx500 2TB SSD, and a 14TB Seagate Barracuda hard drive.
