Destiny 2 is a session-based shooter with MMORPG elements that includes raids and story-driven action. Players can enjoy shooting and not worry about the rest. The project is very dynamic and rhythmic, so players won’t have a chance to get bored. In the game, you can shoot any weapon at your favorite enemies. The main character of the storyline must complete numerous tasks while staying alive. There is not much of a plot here, as it mostly depends on the player’s actions.
Most often, gamers will be fighting aliens. Patrols have not disappeared anywhere and this is one of the many activities. The main innovation is a whole chain of secondary tasks that players can fully enjoy. There is a map with fast travel locations. Public events still take place according to schedule, and most importantly, they are marked on the map.
It is almost impossible to balance hundreds of guns, so in competitive mode, each player will see enemies with the same weapons. According to theory, you can win the game using any weapon. Developers are constantly trying to improve the game so that players can not only relax but also have fun.
Yesterday Bungie released their sixth expansion for Destiny 2: The Witch Queen. Originally planned for late 2021, its release was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This event predictably led to a significant increase in the number of concurrent players – the PlayerCounter service recorded a peak of over 1 million players, and the game itself had a queue to enter.
This time, we face Savathun – the very “Witch Queen” after whom the expansions are named. Savathun is the sister of Oryx, the main antagonist of The Taken King expansion in the first part of the game, and players venture into her native world, the Throne World, a new location where they will encounter further story developments and new challenges.
Alongside The Witch Queen, a new season begins – the Season of the Risen. In this season, the Void system is once again reworked, new battlegrounds are introduced, along with new seasonal weapons, and more. Additionally, on March 5th, a new raid called Vow of the Disciple will be opened, with two more dungeons promised later on.
