The game is a reissue of the 1998 game HALF-LIFE on the Source engine with improved physics and special effects, released in 2004. The storyline of the original version of the game has been preserved. Young laboratory employee Gordon Freeman continues to analyze crystals, unaware of the possible catastrophic consequences.
The textures have also remained the same, but with greater detail and the use of skybox technology. Additions include highlights, reflections on water, shadows, and bullet effects. A great innovation is the ability to choose and play the chapters of the game that interest you, rather than playing the entire story in order.
In comparison to Half-Life 2, the absence of commands to control allies when encountering enemies is surprising. By installing the additional component Half-Life Deathmatch: Source, you can play in multiplayer mode.
