Ropz Speaks Out: “I Don’t Want CS 2 to Be a CS:GO Clone”

FaZe Clan rifler Robin “ropz” Kool has some strong opinions about CS 2. The esports athlete is looking for something fresh from Valve, not just a CS:GO rehash.

“Switching from CS:GO to CS 2 isn’t as daunting as some people make it out to be. If you’ve played CS:GO before, you’ll easily adapt to the new shooter. Fundamentally, both games are the same. Maybe you won’t land headshots like you used to, but that’s part of the game,” ropz explains.

“I don’t want CS 2 to be a carbon copy of CS:GO. The devs are crafting a new experience, and I say let it be just that. Everyone will have to adapt a bit. Right now, we all know the ins and outs of CS:GO, but CS 2 will bring something new to the table,” adds ropz.

On September 9, 2023, Valve announced a new wave of invites to the Counter-Strike 2 beta, extending access even to gamers without CS:GO Prime status.

As for the release date of CS 2, it’s still up in the air. Initially, the developers aimed for a summer 2023 launch. However, rumors suggest that the game might drop after the ESL Pro League Season 18, which wraps up on October 1.

So, are you as excited as ropz for something new, or are you a bit skeptical? Share your thoughts!
