Prototype Duology

Prototype is a series of brutal third-person action games released between 2009 and 2012 in a post-apocalyptic style. The storyline revolves around individuals who have acquired superpowers after being infected by an unknown virus and seek to kill others and sow chaos. The main protagonist is the mutant Alex Mercer, who has lost his memory. He attempts to uncover the truth and understand who turned him into a monster and made him a prototype.

In the second part, players will have to navigate the mutant-infested New York Zero, which is divided into zones. Military camps are located in the green zone, refugees reside in the yellow zone, and infected mutants inhabit the red zone on Manhattan. Here, you will have to fight to defend your life. It is also recommended to consume other characters to acquire their abilities and skills.

The game features free movement in an open world and the ability to customize defensive and offensive superpowers to your liking. There is no grandiosity or sarcasm as seen in other superhero-themed action games; instead, there is only brutality and the tragedy of destruction. Nevertheless, in terms of sales volume, Prototype falls far behind the popular Call of Duty franchise from the same publisher.
