Cool game releases in February 2023

January was a quiet month, but February will go down in history as a month of significant game releases.

Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy – February 10th
Early Access: February 7th for purchasing the Deluxe Edition.
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series.
Genre: role-playing action about magic.

Of particular interest is the role-playing action Hogwarts Legacy, which will take players to the world of Harry Potter. The game is expected to become one of the best-selling in 2023. The first reviews of journalists are positive, but the full review will be available only on February 6.

Returnal

Returnal – Feb 15
Platforms: PC (now out on PS5)
Genre: Dynamic roguelike shooter with mystery.

Returnal is one of the best games on PS5 and is now available for PC. However, players will need high-performance computers with 32 GB of RAM and an SSD as the game takes advantage of many of the features of the Sony console. We recommend not to miss this game, as it is a classic arcade roguelike in a beautiful mystical shooter with a gripping storyline..

The Settlers: New Allies

The Settlers: New Allies – February 17
Platforms: PC (then on consoles)
Genre: economic strategy.

Ubisoft presents a modern reboot of The Settlers – the release of the game has been repeatedly delayed, reworked and postponed again, but now the release will still happen. We already played an early version of The Settlers: New Allies a year ago and the experience was positive, but the game lacked depth. However, Ubisoft for some reason does not advertise the game and does not even release new trailers, although the release of the game is not far off.

Wild Hearts

Wild Hearts – February 17
Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series
Genre: Action about fighting huge monsters.

Electronic Ayres and Tecmo Koei are working with Omega Force to develop a new competitor for the Monster Hunter. The same creators behind Dynasty Warriors are responsible for creating the giant monster-fighting action game, and EA will help promote the game around the world through the EA Originals program.

Atomic Heart

Atomic Heart – February 21
Platforms: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One.
Genre: shooter in Soviet aesthetics.

The incredible shooter “Atomic Heart” has finally become a reality. In November, we had the opportunity to try it and found that the shooting and fighting in it is very exciting. The story of the shooter takes place in an alternative world where the USSR is busy building robots and, sooner or later, everything does not go as planned.

Like a Dragon: Ishin!

Like a Dragon: Ishin! – February 21
Platforms: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One.
Genre: action.

SEGA is releasing a remake of the cult game Yakuza Ishin to please Western fans of the franchise. The remake is a historical part of Yakuza, which tells about the past of Japan through familiar characters. The original spin-off was so successful that it’s now getting a full remake.

PlayStation VR2 – February 22

For fans of the new hardware, the release of the PlayStation VR headset will definitely be the main event, along with about 20 games. Most of them are ports, but there are also new ones. Among them are Horizon: Call of the Mountain, as well as VR versions of Resident Evil Village and Gran Turismo 7.

PS VR2 promises a huge leap in quality with advanced controllers and powerful hardware, but it still connects via wire – it’s single, very long and seemingly convenient, but in the era of wireless and standalone Quest 2, this may not be enough.

Company of Heroes 3

Company of Heroes 3 – February 23
Platforms: PC (later on consoles)
Genre: Real-time strategy.

Relic is gearing up to release a WWII-themed strategy game in the form of Company of Heroes 3. Players will be able to take part in the action in two theatres: Italian and North African, each with unique features. In Italy, it is necessary to regain control of the regions on the global map, while in North Africa a more classic campaign awaits. Looking forward to this release.

Destiny 2: Lightfall

Destiny 2: Lightfall – February 28
Platforms: PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One.
Genre: cooperative shooter.

Fall of Light is the last stop in the world of Destiny before the battle between Light and Darkness ends. This add-on will delight fans of cyberpunk, because the new local city is reminiscent of the famous Night City from Cyberpunk 2077.

If Bungie manages to maintain the quality shown in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, then players are in for a real treat.

But that’s not all: also in February will be released:

  • Sons Of The Forest (February 23; PC) – a sequel to the cult survivalist The Forest, only with a greater stake on the plot;
  • Kerbal Space Program 2 (February 24; PC) – the second part of the hardcore spaceship building simulator will first start its Journey in Steam Early Access;
  • Scars Above (February 28, PC and consoles) is a sci-fi survival action game on an unknown planet. Visually, everything is very similar to Returnal.
